Programs [Michelle]
Cristy teaching: Applique Two Ways
Date: November 3rd, Time: 9-4 with an hour lunch
Location: Mulqueen (new location at Warner and Kyrene)
Cost: $60 + materials fee ($15 for pattern templates, tutorial, foundation paper, glue stick) OPTIONAL KIT
20 members max. Members can sign up through the Members Only Area section of the Guild Website.
Cristy will be teaching two ways to applique: raw edge and needle turn with three hours for each section. The class is an all day class so people can't just go to one half. This ensures that there will be consistency throughout the day and help keep the pace of the class up.
Block of the Month [Melissa] Mari has the BOTM for this month; Claire showed her scissor block to the Guild.
Bee [Faunna/Tracy]-no blocks for September Bee.
OCTOBER Swap [Ana]: Rope Baskets
For this swap you'll need to create a Rope Bowl measuring least 8" in diameter and at least 2" tall. This size is perfect for holding odds and ends near your sewing machine.
Tutorials and Instructions
There are a number of excellent rope bowl tutorials.
Here are a few to get you started:
Modern Handcraft: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVQyzm7Xtt4, https://modernhandcraft.com/2016/12/rope-bowls-my-newest-obsession/

Tip from Becca: Be sure to use a large needle and go slow. Using a smaller needle will end up in lots of broken needles and frustration (trust me!).
November SWAP
The Guild Swap for Novembre will be a fabric bucket (you can make up to 3 buckets from one FQ). The pattern will be posted to the website. Stay Tuned for more details including a link to a free pattern on Craftsy.
Sew & Share: members and guests who brought items to share showed their work and included a small descriptive summary their quilt. Visit the Guild IG account to see photos.
ANNOUNCE WINNER OF CONTEST: 1 Winner gets free dues for 2019! Congrats to Kimie @onwilliamsstreet who won the contest today!
