I counted 23 people at our Charity Sew In! Most everyone worked on the drawstring bags for the police station.
Jacki and BJ (our Charity Chairs) kept us all in fabric cut to size.
At our table we really gabbed and got to know each other as well as helped each other figure out the best way to make the bags. There was a little seam ripping here and there til we got it just the way we wanted it to go!
This table was hard at work too!
All told we made 39 bags! We will be filling them up and donating them to the Chandler Police Station for children in crisis. We hope it makes a difficult time in a child's life a little bit easier.
If you want to sew some of these bags and bring them to the next meeting, you will get a ticket for some prizes. I think everyone went home with something today--thanks Jacki and BJ for all your hard work at making our Charity Sew-In a success. Thanks for BJ and Alyssa for snack this month! Thanks also to all who donated fabric, to all who brought irons and ironing boards and such and to Jona for letting us use her house again and for sharing her scraps with us! PS Someone left her cutting mat/ironing mat with Jona--it was left next to Angela's chair. If it is yours contact a board member. Jona is saving it for you :)
